We recently asked our audience, \u201cWhat\u2019s the worst piece of ministry advice you\u2019ve ever received?\u201d This week we wanted to explore the flip side of the coin.<\/p>\n

So we asked you on social media, \u201cWhat\u2019s the best piece of ministry advice you\u2019ve been given?\u201d Below are some of the responses. Do you see a theme? We do.<\/p>\n

1. \u201cSpiritual change comes by spiritual means. Pray, pray, pray.\u201d<\/p>\n

2. \u201cYou can be right the wrong way and be wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

3. \u201cWhales don’t sweat minnows.\u201d<\/p>\n

4. \u201cDon’t get caught up in the tyranny of the trivial.\u201d<\/p>\n

5. \u201cTake the Bible seriously. Don\u2019t take yourself too seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

6. \u201cNever sacrifice your family on the altar of ministry.\u201d<\/p>\n

7. \u201cAlways put people before projects.\u201d<\/p>\n

8. \u201cMinistry is about people.\u201d<\/p>\n

9. \u201cJust be present for people, particularly in times of grief. Don’t think you have all the answers, because you don’t.\u201d<\/p>\n

10. \u201cIt\u2019s people over projects (God doesn’t call to minister to projects).\u201d<\/p>\n

11. \u201cProgress over perfection (everything is a work in progress).\u201d<\/p>\n

12. \u201cThings are never as bad or as good as they seem.\u201d<\/p>\n

13. \u201cDon’t do anything because you think it’s your only option.\u201d<\/p>\n

14. \u201c\u2018It\u2019s OK for someone else to get the sandwiches.\u2019 Or, \u2018It\u2019s OK to say no.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

15. \u201cYou are responsible for how you are perceived.\u201d<\/p>\n

16. \u201cLearn names.\u201d<\/p>\n

17. \u201cYou are loved.\u201d<\/p>\n

18. \u201cListen and let people know they are heard and they matter.\u201d<\/p>\n

19. \u201cA commitment to an effective preaching ministry is a commitment to be a lifelong learner. Stay disciplined in your discipline.\u201d<\/p>\n

20. \u201cProtect your margins so you can engage every moment.\u201d<\/p>\n
