{"id":31296,"date":"2022-09-10T15:24:47","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:24:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/archaeologists-discover-infamous-old-testament-site\/"},"modified":"2022-09-10T15:24:47","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:24:47","slug":"archaeologists-discover-infamous-old-testament-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/archaeologists-discover-infamous-old-testament-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Archaeologists Discover Infamous Old Testament Site"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">Photo via The Jezreel Expedition <\/p>\n<p><em>By Aaron Earls<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A biblical garden coveted by a notorious king and murderous queen may have been uncovered by archaeologists in northern Israel.<\/p>\n<p>1 Kings 21 describes King Ahab and Queen Jezebel plotting to take Naboth\u2019s vineyard by falsely accusing him of blasphemy.<\/p>\n<p>After Naboth was stoned due to the false charges, Elijah met Ahab in the vineyard and prophesied that the king\u2019s descendants would be killed, and his wife would meet a gruesome end.<\/p>\n<p>After hearing the judgment, Ahab humbled himself and God withheld the judgment until after he died.<\/p>\n<p>In 2 Kings 9, Elisha anoints Jehu, a military commander, as the new king of Israel.
