{"id":31508,"date":"2022-09-10T15:33:08","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:33:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/free-coronavirus-response-training-and-resources-available-for-churches\/"},"modified":"2022-09-10T15:33:08","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:33:08","slug":"free-coronavirus-response-training-and-resources-available-for-churches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/free-coronavirus-response-training-and-resources-available-for-churches\/","title":{"rendered":"Free Coronavirus Response Training and Resources Available for Churches"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">Getty image <\/p>\n<p><em>By Aaron Earls<\/em><\/p>\n<p>As the coronavirus spreads in the U.S. and several state and local governments are asking large groups not to gather, congregations are facing a situation many have never considered.<\/p>\n<p>In response, the Lifeway Leadership team has developed pandemic response resources that are being made available for free to assist pastors and church leaders at MinistryGrid.com\/coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPastors are asking questions about how their churches should react to the coronavirus,\u201d said Todd Adkins, director of Lifeway Leadership. \u201cWe wanted to provide them with training videos and checklists that are immediately applicable for their congregations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Adkins maintains churches should have a response plan that can be implemented for more rare instances like the coronavirus, but also situations like a severe, local outbreak of the flu.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you have a response plan in place, you can effectively communicate and serve your church during a pandemic,\u201d said Adkins. \u201cDoing so shows preparedness, not panic.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class='code-block code-block-1' style='margin: 8px 0;clear: both'> <\/div>\n<p>The free training course \u201cHow to Prepare for the Coronavirus at Your Church\u201d walks leaders through developing a plan, phases of implementation, attendance metrics that should be monitored, how to alter regular ministry practices, and more.<\/p>\n<p>The available documents include a sample pandemic response policy, suggestions from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and checklists for guest services and kids ministry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResponses should be contextualized to individual churches and their communities,\u201d said Adkins. \u201cThese resources should serve as guidelines for churches to develop based on their own specific situations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In light of this, Adkins said churches should start by forming a task force consisting of church staff, key ministry leaders, as well as licensed safety and medical personnel, such as police officers, first responders and nurses.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;margin-top:0em;margin-bottom:1em\">\n<div class=\"centered-text-area\">\n<div class=\"centered-text\" style=\"float: left\">\n<div class=\"uc25e80f56b50f4edbfb3e4ed86b9e202-content\">See also&nbsp; Is It \u2018Ministry Failure\u2019 To See a Counselor?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ctaButton\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The task force should be responsible for monitoring local conditions using information from local and state health departments, the CDC and FEMA to determine the severity in your area, he said.<\/p>\n<p>In developing a response, Adkins said \u201cany ministry that interacts with multiple people on a given Sunday should have specific response tasks as part of the plan.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To access the sample response plan and other free pandemic resources, church leaders need to log in or create a free Lifeway account at Ministry Grid.<\/p>\n<p>Once logged in, participants can view four specific videos: \u201cHow to Create a Pandemic Response Plan for Your Church,\u201d \u201cThree Phases of a Pandemic Response Plan,\u201d \u201cYour Church\u2019s Leadership Pipeline in a Pandemic Response Plan,\u201d and \u201cPandemic Planning Considerations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to practical checklists and other downloadable documents, the course also contains links to applicable CDC guidelines.<\/p>\n<p>Church leaders can find more information on the free training resources at MinistryGrid.com\/coronavirus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>AARON EARLS (@WardrobeDoor)<\/strong><em>&nbsp;is online editor for&nbsp;<\/em>Facts &amp; Trends<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<div class='yarpp yarpp-related yarpp-related-website yarpp-template-thumbnails'>\n<h3>Related posts:<\/h3>\n<div class=\"yarpp-thumbnails-horizontal\">  Churches Still Recovering From Pandemic Losses  What Do Pastors Believe About the End Times?
