{"id":31530,"date":"2022-09-10T15:33:58","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:33:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/3-in-5-evangelicals-live-in-asia-or-africa\/"},"modified":"2022-09-10T15:33:58","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:33:58","slug":"3-in-5-evangelicals-live-in-asia-or-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/3-in-5-evangelicals-live-in-asia-or-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"3 in 5 Evangelicals Live in Asia or Africa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-100073 is-style-default\">Artem Beliaikin photo &#8211; Pexels<\/div>\n<p><em>By Aaron Earls<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Globally, evangelicals number 660 million and represent 26% of the world&#8217;s Christian population, according to estimates from researcher Sebastian Fath.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the research fellow at the National Center for Scientific Research in France and specialist in the study of evangelicalism says more than 60% of evangelicals live in Asia or Africa.<\/p>\n<p>The individual nations with the most evangelicals are the United States (93 million), China (66 million), Nigeria (58 million), Brazil (47 million), India (28 million), and Kenya (20 million).<\/p>\n<p>The center of Christianity continues to move to the global South.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Asia (215 million)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>More evangelicals live in Asia than any other continent, particularly in the two most populous nations\u2014China (66 million) and India (28 million).<\/p>\n<div class='code-block code-block-1' style='margin: 8px 0;clear: both'> <\/div>\n<p>Many evangelicals also call Indonesia (16 million), Philippines (13 million), and South Korea (9 million) home.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>Africa (185 million)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Other researchers have found Christianity is growing faster in Africa than anywhere else.<\/p>\n<p>Currently, the most African evangelicals reside in Nigeria (58 million), Kenya (20 million), Ethiopia (18 million), Democratic Republic of Congo (15 million), and South Africa (15 million).<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"has-large-font-size\"><strong>South America (123 million)<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Almost 2 in 5 South American evangelicals live in Brazil (47 million).
