How is your church investing in the next generation?<\/p>\n

Churches throughout the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) will observe Children’s Ministry Sunday on Sunday, July 21. The special day was added to the SBC calendar after the Executive Committee approved a motion made by a 9-year-old at the 2018 SBC annual meeting in Dallas. <\/p>\n

This is a great day to thank God for the ministry to children, their families, and their volunteers your church provides. <\/p>\n

Make every effort to use this day to remind children of their importance in the church and how they can tell others about Jesus. Recognize and honor children\u2019s ministry volunteers who invest in the lives of children and their families. A variety of resources have been created for leaders to use in their church. <\/p>\n

But this designated day isn\u2019t the only time to support children\u2019s ministry. We can all play an active part through fervent prayer. Here are prayer prompts to use and encourage your children\u2019s ministry. <\/p>\n

1. Pray for the children in your church.<\/h3>\n

The children in your church may come from a variety of backgrounds, including single parent homes, foster homes, blended families, intergenerational families, and children whose parents do not attend church.<\/p>\n
