{"id":32046,"date":"2022-09-10T15:54:07","date_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:54:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/kingdom-men-rising-film-moves-from-theaters-to-churches\/"},"modified":"2022-09-10T15:54:07","modified_gmt":"2022-09-10T20:54:07","slug":"kingdom-men-rising-film-moves-from-theaters-to-churches","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/kingdom-men-rising-film-moves-from-theaters-to-churches\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Kingdom Men Rising\u2019 Film Moves From Theaters to Churches"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"entry-content\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-image size-full wp-image-97690\">Moviegoers gather and pray outside a theater in Edina, Minn., after seeing \u201cKingdom Men Rising\u201d during its two-night Fathom Event release. &#8211; Photo courtesy of The Urban Alternative<\/div>\n<p><em>By Aaron Earls<\/em><\/p>\n<p>After a successful theatrical event, <em>Kingdom Men Rising<\/em>, a documentary about biblical manhood, will now be made available for churches and other groups to show beginning June 1.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><\/div>\n<p>Believing \u201cthe biblical definition of manhood is under attack,\u201d pastor and author Tony Evans wanted to do something about it.<\/p>\n<p>Evans, pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship in Dallas, Texas, partnered with Lifeway Films to develop <em>Kingdom Men Rising<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>As an extension of his books, <em>Kingdom Man<\/em> and <em>No More Excuses<\/em>, Evans said presenting the message through a film \u201cwas an important event because it used a modern medium to change lives. The large-scale visuals on the screen were used to challenge men to be who they were created to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Audiences resonated with the message. More than 100,000 people attended nationwide showings in 732 theaters on April 29-30.<\/p>\n<div class='code-block code-block-1' style='margin: 8px 0;clear: both'> <\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe response has been positive and overwhelming,\u201d said Evans. \u201cMany people are telling us that the message of the film is very timely and needed in today\u2019s world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bill Craig, an executive producer of the film and director of publishing at Lifeway Christian Resources said, \u201cIt was the right time to have a nationwide Christian event for men and men\u2019s groups\u2014to respond to the cultural confusion about manhood and rally Christian men to join other men in challenging one another to be \u2018Kingdom Men.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At one film screening in Houston, attendees began to spontaneously gather, hold hands and pray. \u201cThere must have been 75 people in a huge circle. We began to pray the Lord\u2019s Prayer out loud,\u201d said Rickie Bradshaw, director of prayer for KSBJ, a local Christian radio station.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany were in tears as they held hands to pray,\u201d Bradshaw said. \u201cThe scene was a great picture of the body of Christ from many walks of life and ethnicities gathering in one accord to express their desire to respond to the Kingdom Men Challenge from the film.\u201d<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both;margin-top:0em;margin-bottom:1em\">\n<div class=\"centered-text-area\">\n<div class=\"centered-text\" style=\"float: left\">\n<div class=\"u074d706a13d0e55f35df5addb5405fc5-content\">See also&nbsp; What Sparks Evangelical Generosity? Discipleship<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ctaButton\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Heather Hair, an executive producer of the film and director of ministry development at Tony Evans\u2019 The Urban Alternative, said she will never forget groups of moviegoers gathered outside the theater talking for an hour after the film.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt looked like&nbsp;church had just let out,\u201d she said. \u201cMen, women and young adults spoke with enthusiasm about the empowering call to discipleship this film stirred in them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Evans believes that reaction and others like it are due to just how timely and needed the film\u2019s message is.<\/p>\n<p>Justin Diel, a producer of <em>Kingdom Men Rising<\/em> and manager of Lifeway Films, said hundreds of positive responses have flowed in through email and social media. \u201cMany of them are asking how they can see the film again or show it to someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Because of this response, Lifeway Films will be offering digital streaming of <em>Kingdom Men Rising<\/em> beginning June 1.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShowing this film to your church or group will bring them together as a community where they can learn and help each other move together in a common direction,\u201d Evans said.<\/p>\n<p>Streaming passes are available for pre-purchase now and provide access to watch the film on-demand from June 1 through July 15, 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The pass includes a public performance site license to show the film to a group of any size at one location for a limited time.
