Stott<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBecause a faithful preacher is all I\u2019ve ever wanted to be.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eric Mason: pastor and founder of Epiphany Fellowship in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>The Black Church in the African American Experience<\/em>, by C. Eric Lincoln<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a shocking, yet enlightening, church history most Christians don\u2019t have on their radar! It illustrates a narrative we all need to learn from. One of the missing characteristics of leaders today is moral courage. He (Bonhoeffer) also displayed a deep conviction and loyalty to Christ. He was fully submitted to no one and nothing except God and His Word.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Missie Branch: assistant dean of students to women at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Spiritual Leadership<\/em>, by J. Oswald Sanders<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGreat book for leaders to be both challenged and encouraged. I also agree with Jen Wilkin that <em>The Knowledge of the Holy<\/em> is a great choice.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Clint Pressley: senior pastor of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Holiness<\/em>, by J.C. Ryle<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I don\u2019t have personal holiness, my ministry is a mouthful of ashes. This book is a fire hose of conviction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Karen Swallow Prior: professor of English, Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Amusing Ourselves to Death<\/em>, by Neil Postman<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s a primer for a post-literate age on the way technology forms us, based on Marshall McLuhan\u2019s premise that the medium is the message. One need not adopt Postman\u2019s pessimism in whole to receive the import of his message.
