For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,\u00a0<\/em>for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful\u00a0<\/em>for the destruction of fortresses.\u00a0 2 Corinthians 10:3-4<\/em><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/em>I have a friend of mine who loves to hunt.\u00a0 He goes to Africa quite often to hunt big game.\u00a0 He has a powerful rifle, Nitro Express, that cost him a small fortune.\u00a0 Talk about a big gun – WOW!\u00a0 The bullets it shoots are huge.\u00a0 That gun can do some damage and stop a charging elephant in his tracks.\u00a0 You have to have a big gun when facing big game.\u00a0 Otherwise, you are dead meat.<\/p>\n

BIG GUNS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Does God equip His people with big guns?\u00a0 Or do we simply face every battle with a slingshot and a stick, as David did with Goliath?<\/p>\n

The weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh.\u00a0 We have BIG GUNS to fire at the enemy, but they are not the guns of this world.<\/p>\n

PAUL AND SILAS USED BIG GUNS<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paul and Silas were in Philippi doing the will of God: exposing the deeds of darkness and preaching the Word of God without apology or compromise.\u00a0 In so doing, they faced serious opposition as the devil incited the people to come against them in a big way.\u00a0 Paul and Silas ended up beaten, bloodied, and imprisoned with their feet in the stocks (see Acts 16).<\/p>\n

The devil, that fierce, roaring lion, seemed to have them in his grasp.\u00a0 They were down and out in Philippi.\u00a0 Or were they?\u00a0 At midnight, in the midst of great physical and emotional pain and demonically inspired adversity, Paul and Silas resisted the urge to gripe, complain, doubt and despair.\u00a0 Instead, they pulled out the big guns.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them\u201d (Acts 16:25)<\/p>\n

Now I can see praying in that situation, but singing hymns of praise to God?\u00a0 WOW!\u00a0 That praise said to God, \u201cNo matter what, Lord, we know You are in control of this situation.\u00a0 We trust You, love You, and exalt Your name in the midst of our suffering because You alone are worthy.\u201d<\/p>\n

BOOM!\u00a0 In response to their prayer and praise, God sent an earthquake that shook the house.\u00a0 God brought about a jailhouse rock!\u00a0 Lives were touched and changed for all eternity as the jailer and his whole household received Christ as Savior and Lord.\u00a0 Great rejoicing took place that night.\u00a0 And it all started because the big guns of prayer, praise, and faith were unleashed in that prison.<\/p>\n

IN YOUR LIFE<\/strong><\/p>\n

My friend, do you find yourself in trouble today in ministry?\u00a0 Is the devil charging at you full force?\u00a0 Are you afraid and don\u2019t know what to do?\u00a0 Have you been doing the will of God only to experience suffering and hardship because of it?\u00a0 Are you ready to throw in the towel and follow the terrible advice of Job\u2019s heartbroken wife who said to Job, \u201cCurse God and die!\u201d?<\/p>\n

Listen, it\u2019s time to pull out the big guns \u2026 especially in ministry!\u00a0 It is time to start praying, praising, and believing God no matter what!\u00a0 Your \u201cjailhouse rock\u201d is coming.\u00a0 Don\u2019t give up!\u00a0 Don\u2019t despair!\u00a0 Don\u2019t quit!\u00a0 There is great power in prayer and praise.\u00a0 Satan hates it when we pray, and he can\u2019t handle the praise and faith.<\/p>\n

The big guns are at your disposal.\u00a0 They are the weapons of our warfare.\u00a0 They tear down strongholds and put the devil to flight.\u00a0 Will you employ the big guns today?\u00a0 Your ministry will be blessed and God will be beside you all the way.<\/p>\n
