{"id":33255,"date":"2022-09-10T20:41:47","date_gmt":"2022-09-11T01:41:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/are-you-standing-up-for-truth\/"},"modified":"2022-09-10T20:41:47","modified_gmt":"2022-09-11T01:41:47","slug":"are-you-standing-up-for-truth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/are-you-standing-up-for-truth\/","title":{"rendered":"Are You Standing up for\u00a0Truth?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>&#8220;&#8216;I\u00a0believed therefore, I spoke,&#8217;\u00a0we also believe, Therefore, also we speak.&#8221;\u00a0 2 Corinthians 4:13<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Christian\u00a0life of the Apostle Paul is a story of grace,\u00a0glory,\u00a0and suffering.\u00a0 God worked miracles in and through Paul as He used him\u00a0to speak the\u00a0truth in love, plant churches,\u00a0and lead multitudes to faith in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>As Paul presented the truth of man&#8217;s utter\u00a0sinfulness and the Savior&#8217;s sacrifice and victory over sin, death, hell,\u00a0and the grave, many people had their feathers ruffled.\u00a0 In fact, both Jews and Gentiles alike often reacted to the gospel message with violence.\u00a0 Paul was beaten and imprisoned\u00a0on numerous occasions for preaching the truth and obeying the Lord.\u00a0 His unwavering commitment to Christ\u00a0and His Word resulted in his beheading under the persecution of Emperor\u00a0Nero.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IS THERE ANY WAY TO AVOID THE SUFFERING?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why did Paul receive such brutal treatment?\u00a0 Could he have done anything to avoid all the suffering?\u00a0 Yes!\u00a0 He could have easily\u00a0quit preaching the unadulterated\u00a0truth.\u00a0 He could have dialed down\u00a0his message to tickle the ears and\u00a0fit in with the sinful\u00a0culture.\u00a0 He could have bowed to the demands\u00a0of Rome and played ball with the corrupt\u00a0Jewish\u00a0religious leaders.\u00a0 He could have turned his back on his\u00a0Lord and\u00a0his calling and saved himself a ton of grief and pain.\u00a0 He could have wilted under the pressure, but he did not!\u00a0 He truly believed that Jesus died and rose again, therefore he spoke the truth without stutter, stammer, apology, or equivocation.\u00a0 He\u00a0was faithful to Jesus\u00a0Christ\u00a0all the way to the finish line,\u00a0regardless\u00a0of the circumstances and the backlash.\u00a0 Aren&#8217;t you glad?<\/p>\n<p><strong>THE DAY IN WHICH WE LIVE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I believe we are living in the last of the last days.\u00a0 The signs of Christ&#8217;s soon\u00a0return are all around us.\u00a0 One of the telltale signs is the hatred we will receive for standing up for the Lord and His Word, especially preaching it from the pulpit without compromise or apology.<\/p>\n<p>America used to value\u00a0Christianity and uphold\u00a0the authority of the\u00a0Word of God\u2014but those days\u00a0are gone.\u00a0 Today, faithful\u00a0preachers and followers\u00a0who lovingly\u00a0hold to the clear teachings of Scripture are vilified, mocked, scorned, marginalized,\u00a0and\u00a0attacked.\u00a0 Can physical violence be far behind?\u00a0 I think not.<\/p>\n<p>What is the answer?\u00a0 Should we water down the message to make it more palatable to a sin-sick world?\u00a0 Never!\u00a0 If we really believe, we will speak up and speak out, just as 2 Corinthians 4:13 states.\u00a0 And if we grow\u00a0silent in the face of persecution,\u00a0moral decay, and social lunacy,\u00a0did we really ever\u00a0believe at all?<\/p>\n<p>Let me encourage you to keep holding\u00a0up\u00a0the banner of\u00a0truth.\u00a0 If we truly believe, we cannot help but speak.\u00a0 Those fighting for the right to glory in sin and depravity will never find peace and happiness.\u00a0 Sin always\u00a0brings guilt, shame,\u00a0death, and despair,\u00a0regardless of how many people argue otherwise.\u00a0As my favorite preacher, Adrian Rogers, always said, \u201cWrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it &#8230;
