Comparing the &quot;churched&quot; with the &quot;unchurched&quot; on a wide range of behaviors like pilfering supplies (stealing), overstating qualifications on resumes (lying), calling in sick when not sick (lying and stealing), and overstating tax deductions (lying, stealing, and cheating), the center finds &quot;little difference in the ethical views and behavior of the churched and the unchurched.&quot; What differences there are &quot;are not significant or are of marginal significance.&quot;<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>William Hendricks, in Christianity Today, Nov. 25, 1991<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;line-height:normal'><b>Little Difference<\/b><\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-bottom:3.0pt;text-indent:18.0pt;line-height: normal'>There\u2019s little difference in ethical behavior between the churched and the unchurched. There\u2019s as much pilferage and dishonesty among the churched as the unchurched. And I\u2019m afraid that applies pretty much across the board: religion, per se, is not really life changing. People cite it as important, for instance, in overcoming depression\u2014but it doesn\u2019t have primacy in determining behavior.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoNormal align=right style='margin-bottom:6.0pt;text-align:right; line-height:normal'>George H.
