Mark 6:4-6 (NASB20), 4 “Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not dishonored except in his hometown and among his own relatives, and in his own household.’ 5 And He could not do any miracle there<\/strong> except that He laid His hands on a few sick people and healed them. 6 And He was amazed at their unbelief<\/strong>…”<\/p>\n

Jesus could heal only a few sick people because they did not believe He could do so – Jesus was amazed at their unbelief. Faith is always essential in our walk with God. Jesus healed others and performed miracles through God’s power. The following are four examples where Jesus said that a person could be healed if they believed.<\/p>\n

Matthew 9:28-29 (NET), 28 “When he went into the house, the blind men came to him. Jesus said to them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?<\/strong>’ They said to him, ‘Yes, Lord.’ 29 Then he touched their eyes saying, ‘Let it be done for you according to your faith<\/strong>.’<\/p>\n

Matthew 8:13 (NET), “Then Jesus said to the centurion, ‘Go; just as you believed, it will be done for you<\/strong>.’ And the servant was healed at that hour.”<\/p>\n

Matthew 15:28 (NET), “Then Jesus answered her, ‘Woman, your faith is great! Let what you want be done <\/strong>for you.’ And her daughter was healed from that hour.”<\/p>\n

Mark 10:52 (NET), “Jesus said to him, ‘Go, your faith has healed you<\/strong>.’ Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the road.”<\/p>\n

But this does not mean that God is miraculously healing people today. The gifts in the early church were a testimony to unbelievers (1 Corinthians 14:22) that the Gospel message was from God. At that time, there was no complete New Testament\/Bible from which to learn God’s plan. Therefore miraculous signs like speaking in foreign languages, healing, prophetic insights, etc. helped to establish Christian congregations. <\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 13:10 (KJV), “But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”  “Perfect” is Strong’s word G5046 and it can mean “complete”. Thus, when God’s word was complete, the miracles ended. Their testimony was no longer needed.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
