When we accept Jesus as our Savior and consecrate our whole life to do God's will, our wealth belongs to God. We need not worry about keeping it safe. We use the spirit of a sound mind to store our funds, but then we use our resources to support ourselves and to use all the rest in God's service.?<\/p>\n

There is nothing wrong with gaining interest through a bank. Even in a parable, Jesus taught, “Then another (servant)<\/em> came, saying, ‘Lord, here is your pound, which I kept laid away in a napkin; …  (Jesus responded)<\/em> 23 Why then did you not put my money into the bank, and at my coming I should have collected it with interest?’” Luke 19:20, 23 (RSV) But we should never collect interest from our brethren in Christ or from those in poverty.?<\/p>\n

?If we try to be wise, God will protect our resources. But sometimes God permits our earthly situation to change. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation,<\/em> whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” Philippians 4:12-13 (NIV)  ?<\/strong><\/p>\n

??<\/strong>Worrying about wealth, where to grow and to store it, is the wrong focus <\/em>of our lives. Paul wrote, “But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 Indeed I count everything as loss <\/em>because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ … 10 that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 that if possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead. 12 Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect; but I press on to make it my own,<\/em> because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13 Brethren, I do not consider that I have made it my own; but one thing I do,<\/em> forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14 I<\/em><\/strong> press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call o<\/em>f God in Christ Jesus."
