Summary: <\/strong>No spirit-begotten Christian needs any human bodyguards.<\/p>\n

Discussion: <\/strong>Angels have and do invisibly minister to all those who have made a consecration to do the will of God and follow in the footsteps of Jesus. We often refer to these angels as “guardian angels<\/strong>.” “Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve <\/strong>those who will inherit salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14) “The angel of the LORD encamps around those <\/strong>who fear him, and he delivers them<\/strong>.” (Psalm 34:7) How blessed each of us is to have a protecting spirit being beside us at all times!<\/p>\n

Therefore, true Christians do not need any human bodyguards<\/strong>. God is well-aware of His children’s welfare. He makes, “all things work <\/strong>together for good<\/strong> to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28.  Sometimes God may do this through our guardian angels. One angel is much more powerful<\/strong> than a thousand human bodyguards<\/strong>. Remember how the angel of death, a single angel, killed all the firstborn Egyptians and their firstborn animals in one night during the last Egyptian plague? (See Exodus 12:29-30.)<\/p>\n

Recall also the account of the enemy Syrian army coming to capture the prophet, Elisha. Here is the story:<\/p>\n

2 Kings 6:14-16 (NLT) – So one night the king of Aram (Syria<\/em>) sent a great army<\/strong> with many chariots and horses to surround the city. When the servant of the man of God got up early the next morning and went outside, there were troops, horses, and chariots everywhere<\/strong>. ‘Oh, sir, what will we do <\/strong>now?’ the young man cried to Elisha. ‘Don't be afraid!’ Elisha told him. ‘For there are more on our side than on theirs!<\/strong>’”<\/p>\n

2 Kings 6:17-18 (NLT) – “Then Elisha prayed, ‘O LORD, open his eyes and let him see!’ The LORD opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire <\/strong>(an angelic army<\/em>). As the Aramean army advanced toward him, Elisha prayed, ‘O LORD, please make them blind.’ So the LORD struck them with blindness as Elisha had asked.” This story illustrates why we do not need bodyguards.<\/p>\n

So, we do not know why the General Overseer would need human protection. Perhaps you might ask the General Overseer, himself, or your denomination why this is being done.<\/p>\n
