We walk with God by praying for opportunities of service. If you are sincere and humble, the Lord will open your eyes to the needs of others. Daily, we will begin to see ways to aid others, both spiritually and naturally.

Most of the time, we help in small ways. We offer a warm smile or kind words of encouragement. Other times, we send a sympathetic email to a sick friend. If a person needs a ride, a job, a house repair, a meal, or child care, we might help in these areas. Galatians 6:10, "Therefore, whenever we have the opportunity, we should do good to everyone–especially to those in the family of faith." We experiment by trying different services and learn where we seem to have talents. Numbers 12:3, "Now Moses was very humble—more humble than any other person on earth." God could exalt him to a leadership position because he was so humble. Therefore, in order to serve God, we must also develop our characters. God resists the proud but blesses the humble. (1 Peter 5:5.)

Soon, others will see your helping spirit and may ask you to participate in more involved projects.
