Summary:<\/em> Yes<\/strong>, God, as represented by Christ, ends the present evil world (Galatians 1:4) in the Armageddon battle. <\/p>\n

Discussion: <\/em>Gog is the enemy of God. Ezekiel 38:3, 18, 20-23 (ESV), “and say, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I am against you, O Gog<\/strong>…on that day, the day that Gog shall come against the land of Israel, declares the Lord GOD, my wrath will be roused<\/strong> in my anger…and all the people <\/strong>who are on the face of the earth, shall quake<\/strong> at my presence<\/strong>. And the mountains<\/strong> (kingdoms of this world, Revelation 11:15<\/em>) shall be thrown down, and the cliffs shall fall, and every wall shall tumble to the ground. I will summon a sword against Gog on all my mountains, declares the Lord GOD. Every man's sword will be against his brother. With pestilence and bloodshed I will enter into judgment <\/strong>with him, and I will rain upon him and his hordes and the many peoples who are with him torrential rains and hailstones, fire and sulfur. So I will show my greatness and my holiness <\/strong>and make myself known in the eyes of many nations. Then they will know that I am the LORD<\/strong>.” <\/p>\n

Hamon-gog<\/strong> means the “multitude of Gog”. It is the name of the valley where the dead bodies of Gog will be buried. Ezekiel 39:11, 15 (ESV), “On that day I will give to Gog a place for burial in Israel, the Valley of the Travelers, east of the sea. It will block the travelers, for there Gog and all his multitude will be buried<\/strong>. It will be called the Valley of Hamon-gog…<\/strong>And when anyone sees a human bone, then he shall set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the Valley of Hamon-gog<\/strong>.” In the Bible, Hamon-gog only appears in these two verses.<\/p>\n

Armageddon means “the hill or city of Megiddo”. Megiddo is the location of Israel’s victorious battle against the Canaanite forces of king Sisera (Judges 4 and 5:19). Revelation 16:16 identifies Armageddon<\/strong> as the symbolic site <\/strong>where the nations have their final battle against Christ at Christ’s second advent.  “…Demonic spirits (fallen angels directing the world’s affairs<\/em>), performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world<\/strong>, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty<\/strong>…And they assembled them at the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon<\/strong>,” Revelation 16:14, 16 (ESV). <\/p>\n

The results<\/strong> of the conflict are shown in Revelation 16:18-20 (ESV), “And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake…and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath<\/strong> (retributive justice for the persecution and slaughter of true Christians for centuries<\/em>). And every island fled away, and no mountains<\/strong> (no kingdoms, Daniel 2:44<\/em>) were to be found.”<\/p>\n

This battle prepares men for Christ’s wonderful, earthly reign! Daniel 2:44 (NLT), “During<\/strong> the reigns of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom<\/strong> that will never be destroyed or conquered. It will crush all these kingdoms<\/strong> into nothingness, and it will stand forever.”<\/strong><\/p>\n
