It should not be fearful. We should not always be worried. Jesus said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart…For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30.

So how do we stay saved? We obey the Lord one day at a time. When we wake, we pray and ask the Lord what He would like us to do that day. Then through life’s duties, we stay in an attitude of prayer. “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18.

When we slip up, we immediately ask for forgiveness. We try to do better with God’s help. Philippians 1:6 (NIV), “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 2:12-13, “it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”

It is also very important to study the Bible. It is by study that we learn God’s truths and His will. We don’t want to be like Saul, who thought he was serving God when he persecuted the early church. (See Acts 7:54-58.) We can also believe serious errors without study. It was after the Lord Jesus appeared to Saul, that he changed his ways and became the great Apostle Paul.

Through obedience, we become sanctified (holy) and separate ourselves from the world. Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth…For them, I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified.” John 17:17, 19.

For a more detailed study about God’s will for the church and all mankind, please download the free PDF: "God's Grand Plan of the Ages".

Walking with the Lord is a joyful and blessed experience.
