Prayer is a privilege<\/strong>. No earthly king or president permits unlimited access to his ear. But the great creator, emperor, God of the universe encourages our communication! He never sleeps. Psalm 121:4, “He who watches over Israel (natural and spiritual Israel) never slumbers or sleeps<\/strong>.” He is always there for us. What a gracious God we have!<\/p>\n

Jesus taught,<\/strong> “men ought always to pray<\/strong> and not faint” (Luke 18:1). Why? Does God need our prayers? No. God knows prayer will grow our spiritual lives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Through prayer:<\/p>\n

1. We should honor and praise God. The Lord’s prayer begins with, “Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name<\/strong>.” Hallowed means to honor as holy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2. We can give thanks for all the gifts we have received. Gratitude is vital <\/strong>to our spiritual lives. Additionally, it supports our mental, emotional and physical health.<\/p>\n

3. We connect with God. We can find our life’s purpose <\/strong>and live a meaningful life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

4. We pray to seek guidance and support in times of need and distress. We can rely on God<\/strong> for help. “Cast all your anxiety on him <\/strong>because he cares for you,” 1 Peter 5:7. He gives us peace and courage to endure difficulties.<\/p>\n

Universally, people desire to connect with God. Prayer is a spiritual practice common to most religions. But praying to the true God of the Bible<\/strong> is to connect with the ultimate source of wisdom, love, power, and justice. We know that if we ask according to His will<\/strong>, God will respond to us so that our joy may be full<\/strong>. John 16:24.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
