No earthly king or president permits unlimited access to his ear. But the great creator, emperor, God of the universe encourages our communication! He never sleeps. Psalm 121:4, &ldquo;He who watches over Israel (natural and spiritual Israel) <strong>never slumbers or sleeps<\/strong>.&rdquo; He is always there for us. What a gracious God we have!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Jesus taught,<\/strong> &ldquo;men ought <strong>always to pray<\/strong> and not faint&rdquo; (Luke 18:1). Why? Does God need our prayers? No. God knows <strong>prayer will grow our spiritual lives<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Through prayer:<\/p>\n<p>1. We should honor and praise God. The Lord&rsquo;s prayer begins with, &ldquo;Our Father, who art in heaven, <strong>hallowed be Thy name<\/strong>.&rdquo; Hallowed means to <strong>honor as holy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>2. We can give thanks for all the gifts we have received. <strong>Gratitude is vital <\/strong>to our spiritual lives. Additionally, it supports our mental, emotional and physical health.<\/p>\n<p>3. We connect with God. We can find our <strong>life&rsquo;s purpose <\/strong>and live a <strong>meaningful life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>4. We pray to seek guidance and support in times of need and distress. We can <strong>rely on God<\/strong> for help. &ldquo;Cast <strong>all your anxiety on him <\/strong>because he cares for you,&rdquo;&nbsp;1 Peter 5:7. He gives us peace and courage to endure difficulties.<\/p>\n<p>Universally, people desire to connect with God. Prayer is a spiritual practice common to most religions. But <strong>praying to the true God of the Bible<\/strong> is to connect with the ultimate source of wisdom, love, power, and justice. We know that if we <strong>ask according to His will<\/strong>, God will respond to us <strong>so that our joy may be full<\/strong>.
