{"id":36422,"date":"2022-09-13T12:55:10","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T17:55:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/who-is-god\/"},"modified":"2022-09-13T12:55:10","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T17:55:10","slug":"who-is-god","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/who-is-god\/","title":{"rendered":"Who is God?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Much of what God has revealed of himself comes through an understanding of his Divine Plan, through his Holy Word.&nbsp; The heights and depths of his wonderful character are seen there!<\/p>\n<p>The Biblical account states that&nbsp;<strong>God, a Creator, an intelligent First Cause, existed<\/strong>. &ldquo;Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou had formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.&rdquo; (Psalm 90:2)&nbsp; It reveals to us his work and its systematic orderly progress&mdash;&ldquo;In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.&rdquo; (Genesis 1:1; Hebrews 1:10)&nbsp; We are also told that &ldquo;<strong>God is a Spirit<\/strong>&rdquo; and that &ldquo;<strong>No man can see God and live<\/strong>&rdquo;.&nbsp; (John 4:24, 1:18; Exodus 33:20; 1 Timothy 6:16)&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The existence of God is a clearly demonstrated truth, the proof of which lies all around us and within us.&nbsp; This one, whose wisdom planned and whose power upholds and guides the universe, we instinctively worship and adore. &ldquo;For in him we live, and move, and have our being&rdquo; (Acts 17:28, 29). &ldquo;I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are thy works; and that my soul knows right well.&rdquo; (Psalm 139:14)&nbsp;&nbsp;<strong>His every power speaks of skill beyond our comprehension<\/strong>&nbsp;(Psalm 147:4, 5; Isaiah 55:9), except as he has kindly chosen to give us some revelation of himself&mdash;&ldquo;Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.&rdquo;&nbsp; (Psalm 119:105)&nbsp; &ldquo;For with thee is the&nbsp;<strong>fountain of life<\/strong>: in thy light shall we see light.&rdquo; (Psalm 36:9)<\/p>\n<p>The foundation of God&rsquo;s government is based upon&nbsp;<strong>justice and equity<\/strong>. (Psalm 89:14; Romans 2:11; James 1:17)&nbsp; Even though he will never go against his own perfect law of justice, he has made a&nbsp;<strong>loving provision for the redemption<\/strong>&nbsp;and restitution of the sinful human race through Jesus Christ, his Son. (Romans 3:26, 5:8, 18, 19; 1 Timothy 2:3-6; Acts 3:19-21)&nbsp; This provision shows us a&nbsp;<strong>beautiful manifestation of his character<\/strong>. &ldquo;&hellip;<strong>God is love.<\/strong>&rdquo; 1 John 4:8 (John 3:16, 17; 17:3)&nbsp; In God&rsquo;s&nbsp;<strong>wisdom<\/strong>, he also has granted mankind liberty of will and desires them to choose righteousness. (Psalm 72:7; Romans 6:16; 2 Peter 3:13; 1 John 3:7)&nbsp; After the world&rsquo;s experience with sin and death, all will have the privilege of turning unto God that they may inherit eternal life. (Ezekiel 18:20, 21; Jeremiah 31:29, 30; Revelation 22:17)<\/p>\n<p>God is called &ldquo;I AM&rdquo;, &ldquo;Almighty God&rdquo;, &ldquo;Jehovah&rdquo; and &ldquo;LORD&rdquo;.&nbsp; He is intimately acquainted with those who know him as their benevolent and loving &ldquo;Father&rdquo;; both his angelic sons and those sons who are begotten and led by his spirit. (Exodus 3:13, 14, 6:2, 3; Genesis 17:1; Matthew 6:9, 18:10; Romans 8:14)<\/p>\n<p>Thus we have before our mental vision the character and attributes of our great God.&nbsp; We have found that&nbsp;<strong>he is a supreme, intelligent God, in whom wisdom, justice, love, and power exist in perfect harmony<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Much of what God has revealed of himself comes through an understanding of his Divine Plan, through his Holy Word.&nbsp; The heights and depths of his wonderful character are seen there!
