The broad principle stated in Titus 3:2 should be honored, \u201c<strong>Speak evil of no man<\/strong>\u201d. If we are to \u201clove our brother as ourselves,\u201d Matthew 12:31, we surely want to be extremely careful in resolving any problems that should arise among us.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, if we have meticulously followed the steps in the context of this verse, then we may go to our\u00a0<strong>local church.\u00a0<\/strong>This is the church where both the\u00a0<strong>offended person and the offender<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>regularly worship together<\/strong>. If both persons do not attend the same church, then it is not a church matter.<\/p>\n<p>Approaching the church about a problem should be an<strong>\u00a0extremely rare occurrence.<\/strong>\u00a0In our hearts,\u00a0<strong>mercy<\/strong>\u00a0should reign (James 2:13). We should be ready to let go of as many little issues as possible. \u201cIf it is possible, as far as it depends on you,<strong>\u00a0live at peace with everyone<\/strong>,\u201d Romans 12:18 (NIV).\u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n<p>If a serious scriptural principle is violated, only then should the church become involved. Most problems between brethren are found to be the result of human misunderstandings. The first step of Matthew 18 is to<strong>\u00a0go to him or her alone and clear it up<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If the issue or situation is still unresolved, then\u00a0<strong>surely<\/strong>\u00a0bringing a\u00a0<strong>third party, who has no prior knowledge of the circumstance<\/strong>, will clear things up.<\/p>\n<p>At any rate, there is only one church that would be appropriate to this verse, and that is where the one with the problem and the offender\u00a0<strong>regularly attend<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Conflicts between brethren are very personal matters to be\u00a0handled as quietly as possible.
