The word &ldquo;Christmas&rdquo; is formed from &ldquo;Christ mass&rdquo;- meaning a Catholic mass. However, today, most people do not associate a mass with Christmas.&nbsp;\u200b<\/p>\n<p>We believe that Jesus was <strong>born about October 1st.<\/strong> Since Jesus never suggested we commemorate His birthday, it&rsquo;s <strong>not important <\/strong>which day we choose to celebrate that wonderful, blessed event. Upon<strong> Christmas day<\/strong>, December 25th., we may properly <strong>join with all <\/strong>whose hearts are in the <strong>attitude of love and appreciation <\/strong>toward God and toward our Savior. The habit of <strong>giving gifts<\/strong> to each other at this time of year seems <strong>specially appropriate<\/strong>. God is the giver of every good and perfect gift. He is continually giving and we are continually receiving from Him.&nbsp; But amongst all His gifts, the one of greatest importance is the gift of His Son to be our Redeemer.&nbsp;\u200b<\/p>\n<p>Even though the date of December 25th reaches back to pagan holidays, which began before Jesus was born, we are <strong>not celebrating paganism.<\/strong> We are not remembering pagan ideas during our Christmas gatherings.
