John 1:14, "The Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us." In Hebrews 2:8-9, the writer quotes Psalms 8:4-8 describing man as being made "a little lower than angels." Hebrews 2:9 tells us that Jesus took on the same (human) nature so that he could "taste death for every man." Jesus had to be a corresponding being to the first man (the perfect man Adam) who brought sin into the world. Justice required a perfect man (Jesus) to accept the death penalty for another perfect man (Adam). Therefore Jesus had to be made a perfect a human being — no more, no less. Hebrews 2:17, "for it behooved him to be made like unto his brethren."

Was he "normal"? Compared to fallen humanity, no. But Jesus had God for his father; therefore, he did not come under the condemnation brought upon mankind by Adam.
