Can you imagine Jesus hanging out in a bar?<\/strong> No.<\/strong> Sinners would search for Jesus and find Him in healthy places. Jesus did not seek out people having a good time in unhealthy places. \u200b<\/p>\n

One problem with going to bars is that it encourages fallen fleshly appetites. Paul wrote,  “Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves<\/strong> from every defilement of body and spirit<\/strong>, bringing holiness to completion<\/strong> in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1. Remember: we are the salt of the earth. Our words and conduct should bless and uplift people.\u200b<\/p>\n

There are several scriptures which advise us to carefully select our friends and companions. Those with whom we keep company influence <\/strong>our thinking, actions, and characters.\u200b<\/p>\n

Jeremiah 15:17 (NIV),  “I never sat in the company of revelers, never made merry with them<\/strong>; I sat alone<\/strong> because your hand was on me and you had filled me with indignation.”\u200b<\/p>\n

Psalm 1:1 (NIV),  “Blessed is the one who does not<\/strong> walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers<\/strong>.”\u200b<\/p>\n

1 Corinthians 15:33 (NIV),  “Do not be misled: Bad <\/strong>company<\/strong> corrupts good character<\/strong>.”\u200b<\/p>\n

It would be best to develop friendships with other good Christians<\/strong>. We all help each other<\/strong> to fight temptations and to grow in Christ-likeness.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
