We do not know<\/strong> what the body of any spirit or heavenly being is like. Jesus taught that spirit beings were like the wind. He said to Nicodemus, “The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going<\/strong>; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.” John 3:8. Nicodemus responded, “How can these things be?” (John 3:9)  Jesus patiently answered, “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?<\/strong>”<\/p>\n

We learn a little about angelic bodies in Ezekiel 28:12, 14 (NASB). Here God is speaking to Lucifer, who was a beautiful, wise angel before he sinned. “You were the signet of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty…in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.<\/strong>” The stones of fire are stars<\/strong>. So, spirit beings can move in the midst of stars!<\/p>\n

In the Bible, God is only generally described using natural things to give us a way to think about what He is like. Revelation 4:2,3 says John, in a vision <\/strong>(not literally) beheld, “a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne<\/strong>. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian<\/strong>, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald.” Isaiah 66:1 reads, “Thus says the LORD: ‘Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool.<\/strong>’ ” Do these verses mean God has a colorful body with feet? No. These scriptures, inspired by God, are a beautiful way God wants to represent Himself to our natural mind. <\/p>\n

God wants us to feel safe and loved by Him. We are to pray, “Our Father<\/strong>, who is in heaven…” (Matthew 6:9). In Isaiah 66:13, God compares Himself to a mother, “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you.” Additionally,  God promises to “cover you with his feathers<\/strong>; you will take refuge under his wings<\/strong>. His faithfulness will be a protective shield.” (Psalm 91:4, CSB) All of these verses show how we are to relate <\/strong>to our wonderful God. But it would be impossible for our natural minds to comprehend God’s body. Therefore, God is silent about His glorious nature.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
