James 2:8 (NLT), &ldquo;&hellip;obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: &lsquo;Love your neighbor as yourself.&rsquo; &rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Malachi 2:14-15 (NASB), &ldquo;&hellip;the LORD has been a witness between you and the wife of your youth, against whom you have dealt treacherously, though she is your companion and your wife by covenant&hellip;<strong>Take heed then to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of your youth<\/strong>.&rdquo; God is warning against dealing treacherously in any way against one&rsquo;s wife. God hates those who do, and who try to cover up that violence. &nbsp;Imagine the Lord hating us for doing something!<\/p>\n<p>Genesis 2:24 teach how a husband should treat his wife: &ldquo;Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall <strong>cleave unto his wife<\/strong>: and they shall be one flesh.&rdquo; Deuteronomy 24:5 &ldquo;When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: [but] <strong>he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife<\/strong> which he hath taken.&rdquo; Ephesians 5:25, &ldquo;<strong>Husbands, love your wives<\/strong>, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Jesus requires us to follow a law of love and respect for all men and women.&nbsp; Specifically, Christian men are taught to treat their spouses with respect and love. Colossians 3:19&nbsp;tells us &ldquo;Husbands, love [your] wives, and be not bitter against them.&rdquo;&nbsp; Then in Ephesians 5:28,29&nbsp;we are taught, &ldquo;So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. <strong>He that loveth his wife loveth himself<\/strong>.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The strongest exhortation is in 1 Peter 3:7, &ldquo;Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with [them] according to knowledge, <strong>giving honor unto the wife<\/strong>&hellip;<strong>that your prayers be not hindered.<\/strong>&rdquo;&nbsp; This is a very specific and strong scripture.&nbsp; A man who does not give honor to his wife is in danger of his prayers to God not being heard and recognized.&nbsp; Our prayers are our life&hellip;our tie to the Lord God.&nbsp; Imagine having our Lord not hear us when we cry unto him with our hearts because we were not following his direction.&nbsp; It would be tragic.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>All Christian are held to the high standard of the law of love.
