{"id":36860,"date":"2022-09-13T13:13:47","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T18:13:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/is-wearing-makeup-acceptable-in-chuch\/"},"modified":"2022-09-13T13:13:47","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T18:13:47","slug":"is-wearing-makeup-acceptable-in-chuch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/is-wearing-makeup-acceptable-in-chuch\/","title":{"rendered":"Is wearing makeup acceptable in chuch??"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>Not knowing to which church our reader is referring, and there are innumerable churches in the world, we are taking the liberty of reformulating the question thus: <strong>is wearing makeup acceptable in the Bible?<\/strong>&nbsp; There is to our knowledge <strong>no prohibition to wearing makeup in the Bible<\/strong>.&nbsp;Song of Solomon 1:10 reads, &ldquo;Your cheeks are lovely with ornaments, Your neck with chains of gold.&rdquo; Here, the <strong>bride&rsquo;s cheeks are adorned<\/strong>. It is not make-up, but if jewelry adornments were permissible, then so might be a little rouge, etc.<\/p>\n<p>The Bible places a great deal of stress on <strong>inner beauty<\/strong> rather than on physical impression.&nbsp; It is written: &quot;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fusion-fullwidth fullwidth-box fusion-builder-row-1 fusion-flex-container hundred-percent-fullwidth non-hundred-percent-height-scrolling\" style=\"background-position: center center;border-width: 0px 0px 0px 0px;border-color:#eae9e9;border-style:solid\">\n<div class=\"fusion-builder-row fusion-row fusion-flex-align-items-flex-start\" style=\"width:calc( 100% + 0px ) !important;max-width:calc( 100% + 0px ) !important;margin-left: calc(-0px \/ 2 );margin-right: calc(-0px \/ 2 )\">\n<div class=\"fusion-layout-column fusion_builder_column fusion-builder-column-0 fusion_builder_column_1_1 1_1 fusion-flex-column fusion-flex-align-self-flex-start fusion-column-no-min-height\">\n<div class=\"fusion-column-wrapper fusion-flex-justify-content-flex-start fusion-content-layout-column\" style=\"background-position:left top;background-size:cover;padding: 0px 0px 0px 0px\">[&#8230;] man looks at the outward appearance,&nbsp;but the LORD looks at the heart,&quot; (I Samuel 16: 7).&nbsp; The Apostle Paul states his preference: &ldquo;Likewise, I want <strong>women to adorn themselves with <\/strong>proper clothing, modestly and discretely, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments,&nbsp;but rather by means of <strong>good works<\/strong>, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness,&rdquo; (I Timothy 2:9, 10).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Though it is customary for women to desire to be pleasing physically to the opposite sex,&nbsp;they may all learn from the example set by Esther in the Bible.&nbsp;The young virgins chosen to be part of King Ahasuerus&rsquo; court were given cosmetics for their beautification as well as anything they desired to make themselves attractive.&nbsp; When Esther&#039;s turn came to be presented to the king, however, it is said that &ldquo;<strong>she did not request anything [perhaps implying no cosmetics either]<\/strong> except what Hegai, the king&#039;s eunuch who was in charge of the women, advised,&rdquo; (Esther 2: 15).
