{"id":36897,"date":"2022-09-13T13:15:23","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T18:15:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/can-a-preacher-continue-to-preach-to-a-congregation-when-he-has-said-something-bad-to-cause-chaos-with-people-outside-of-his-church\/"},"modified":"2022-09-13T13:15:23","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T18:15:23","slug":"can-a-preacher-continue-to-preach-to-a-congregation-when-he-has-said-something-bad-to-cause-chaos-with-people-outside-of-his-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/can-a-preacher-continue-to-preach-to-a-congregation-when-he-has-said-something-bad-to-cause-chaos-with-people-outside-of-his-church\/","title":{"rendered":"Can a preacher continue to preach to a congregation when he has said something bad to cause chaos with people outside of his church?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"post-content\">\n<p>The entire passage of 1 Timothy 3:1-7 should be read but the relevant passage to this question may be verse 7: &ldquo;He must also have a <strong>good reputation with outsiders,<\/strong> so that he will not fall into disgrace and into the devil&rsquo;s trap.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The relevant passage of Titus 1:6-9 states: &ldquo;For a bishop <strong>must be blameless<\/strong>, as the steward of God; not selfwilled, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; but a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, <strong>sober, just, holy, temperate<\/strong>. &nbsp;Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>1 Peter 5:5 reads regarding the behavior of a preacher: &ldquo;Be shepherds of God&rsquo;s flock that is under your care, watching over them&mdash;not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; &nbsp;not lording it over those entrusted to you, but <strong>being examples to the flock<\/strong>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Apostle Paul admonished Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15-16, 24 &ldquo;Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a <strong>worker who does not need to be ashamed<\/strong> and who correctly handles the word of truth.&rdquo; &ldquo;&nbsp;Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly&hellip;.. And the Lord&rsquo;s servant <strong>must not be quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone<\/strong>, able to teach, not resentful.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In James 3:1, there is the warning, &ldquo;<strong>Not many<\/strong> of you should <strong>become teachers<\/strong>, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach <strong>will be judged more strictly<\/strong>.&rdquo;(by God)&nbsp; This shows that God holds preachers in the church very responsible for their behavior.&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>All Christians (including preachers) should take heed to these words, &ldquo;Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues <strong>deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless<\/strong>.&rdquo; James 1:26<\/p>\n<p>As a&nbsp; warning to the accuser of an elder and a recommendation to address a preacher who may violate the standards of conduct, 1 Timothy 5:19,20 says, &ldquo;Do <strong>not entertain an accusation against an elder unless it is brought by two or three witnesses<\/strong>.
