Yes – <\/strong>after believing in Jesus and making a full and complete consecration\/dedication to serve God, God justifies us and seals us with the holy spirit<\/strong>. We see this in Ephesians 1:13-14: “…having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, [which] is given as a pledge of our inheritance.<\/strong>” <\/p>\n

We must be begotten or born of the holy spirit to have an opportunity of the heavenly inheritance referenced above.  Peter confirms this: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you<\/strong>” (1 Peter 1:3-4).<\/p>\n

We see from these scriptures that upon believing and dedicating our life to serving God, we receive the holy spirit.  Additionally, being a consecrated follower of God means that our inheritance is in heaven.  So having the holy spirit and going to heaven go hand in hand.  However, receiving the holy spirit is not enough to go to heaven.  A consecrated believer must be “faithful unto death” (Revelation 2:10) in order to receive the heavenly inheritance.<\/p>\n

What happens to the rest of the world, those who have not dedicated their lives to serving God and do not have the holy spirit?  God has a plan for them as well.  The rest of mankind is promised a resurrection here on earth as part of the earthly kingdom<\/strong> – the one Jesus prayed for when he said “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt 6:10, John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15). <\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
