It demands our attention to fix whatever is wrong. Sadly, not all things can be fixed; some pain needs to be endured. Focusing on the scriptures is a helpful way to refocus the mind. Proverbs 17:22 ”A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

When in pain we realize our own littleness, yet God is close to us when we are in that attitude.

Isaiah 57:15 “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.”

Psalms 103:10-17 “…as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him.
