In the Bible, the words translated worship have the sense of showing respect or reverence, or serving royalty or God. The definition, according to dictionary.com, is &ldquo;reverent honor and homage paid to God or a sacred personage, or to any object regarded as sacred.&rdquo; Furthermore, the origin of the word helps us understand it better. This word was coined before 900 AD, with the <strong>meaning of worthship<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>When we worship God, we show Him <strong>we recognize His worth is much greater than ours.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>So who is God, and why would we want to do this?<\/p>\n<p>Jehovah, the God of the universe, may be characterized as having four main attributes: justice, love, wisdom, and power. Psalm 89:14, &ldquo;Righteousness and<strong> justice<\/strong> are the foundation of your throne; <strong>steadfast love<\/strong> and faithfulness go before you.&rdquo;&nbsp;Job 36:5, &ldquo;&hellip;God is &hellip;mighty in strength and <strong>wisdom<\/strong>.&rdquo; Psalm 62:11,12, &quot;&hellip;<strong>power belongs to God; and lovingkindness<\/strong> is Yours, O Lord&quot;<\/p>\n<p>How does God use His mighty abilities? To bless! When God&rsquo;s kingdom comes (remember the Jesus&rsquo; prayer, &ldquo;thy kingdom come&rdquo;), then &ldquo;the <strong>eyes<\/strong> of the blind shall be <strong>opened<\/strong>, and the <strong>ears<\/strong> of the deaf shall be <strong>unstopped<\/strong>. Then shall the <strong>lame man leap<\/strong> as an hart, and the <strong>tongue of the dumb sing<\/strong>: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and<strong> streams in the desert<\/strong>&hellip;and the <strong>ransomed of the Lord shall return<\/strong>, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.&rdquo; Isaiah 35:5, 6, 10<\/p>\n<p>Who are the ransomed who will be so blessed? &ldquo;&hellip;the man Christ Jesus; who gave himself a <strong>ransom for all<\/strong>&rdquo; 1 Timothy 2:5, 6&nbsp; <strong>All mankind<\/strong> will be ransomed from sin and death and be wonderfully healed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The more we learn about God<\/strong>, and see His Love, His Wisdom, His Justice, and His Power, the <strong>more we love and appreciate Him<\/strong>! This brings us to the point that we just can&#039;t hold back praising and worshipping Him!
