It is very faith-strengthening and encouraging to know that each of us has gifts we can use to help others.

Other Scriptures describe the special, miraculous gifts of healing that were given by Jesus only to the apostles. Matthew 10:8, "Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give." These miraculous gifts were given to the apostles for the purpose of growing and establishing the faith of the early church. Once the church was more established, there was no need for these miraculous healings. These gifts ended when the lives of the apostles ended. Our God is a loving God and His purposes will be accomplished.

We hope this has been helpful to you, and please write again if you have any further questions.

Thank you for your interesting question. Generally in the New Testament, the word office describes a position of service in the church such as a deacon, or an elder (translated bishop). When the early church was being established, the apostle Paul gave some helpful guidelines in the qualifications of one who would serve in this … Continue reading “What is the difference between offices and gifts in the bible?”

[1

post-37503","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sermons
["GET
