Nevertheless, because of its seriousness, God has provided a mechanism for a rescheduling if there is a legitimate need. For example, in II Chronicles 30, when, because an insufficient number of priests had sanctified themselves, Hezekiah made some emergency reforms. The actual biblical permission for such a practice is found in Numbers 9:11. People who had become defiled were given permission to keep it one month later.
