We have an obligation to emulate this trait of godly mercy in our relationships with other people, friend and foe alike, developing the mindset of a humble servant in the manner of Jesus Christ. The symbolism of the components of a typical Passover service include: (1) foot washing (preparing ourselves for the role or mindset of a humble servant), (2) the breaking and partaking of the bread (representing fellowship and communion with the body of Christ), and (3) the partaking of the wine (representing Christ&#8217;s shedding of blood as a sacrifice redeeming us from the enormity of our collective sins).
