Ironically the blind man had keener sight and a more sterling faith than those who could see. Zacchaeus, a despised man in the community, unashamed of his zeal for Christ, climbed up a sycamore tree (a scrub tree bearing inferior fruit) in order to see his Savior. Christ called Zacchaeus out of the tree and out of sin, indicating He would spend the afternoon with one of the most hated men in Jerusalem. As a result of this encounter, Zacchaeus repented, paying back 400% of what he had overcharged in taxes.
