The wave sheaf offering was waved on the day following the weekly Sabbath during the Days of Unleavened Bread. This day beginning the countdown to Pentecost was a work day. The offering was accompanied by burnt, meal, and drink offerings (Leviticus 23:11-13), none of which could have been tainted by a stranger’s or foreigner’s hand (Leviticus 22:25). Haggai 2:10-15 amplifies that God will not accept offerings rendered unclean by coming into contact with anything unclean (including foreigners). In the Passover recorded in Joshua 5:10, there is absolutely no mention whatsoever about a wavesheaf offering, a meal offering, a burnt offering, or a drink offering, because they would have been forbidden by Leviticus 22:25 and Deuteronomy 12:4-6, 10-11, until such time as the Tabernacle was set up and the land at peace. God did not allow the Israelites to make sacrifices until they had sown their own grain, peacefully occupied the land, and He had chosen a place to put His name, an event which took place seven years after Joshua 5:10 (in Joshua 18:1). Because Jesus Christ was waved in the midst of Unleavened Bread, some have erroneously assumed that the wave sheaf must always occur in the midst of Unleavened Bread. <\/p>\n
<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Sermonette: By Every Word of God The Pentecost Question Put In Order #888s John W.
