By delaying gratification and waiting, our reward will be greater. Only humans, of all God&#8217;s creatures, can learn the value of delayed gratification. Vision and discipline must be channeled into productive self-control. The object of our calling and our vision of spiritual inheritance is worth waiting for and worth disciplining our human nature with its tendency to play and gratify the self. If we delay our gratification, putting off temporal physical pleasures, the reward of eternal glory will be worth the trade-off.
