God&#8217;s intervention in our lives improved their quality exponentially. Everything changed when God&#8217;s Spirit started working in us. If we paraphrase Deuteronomy 7:11 using first person pronouns, we understand that God expects something from us: &quot;I am a holy person, a special treasure, being chosen not for my own attributes, but because God loved me, paying the highest price in the universe (the sacrifice of His Son), I have an obligation to react.&quot; He expects something from us&mdash;namely that we keep His Commandments and follow the cue of the David, who admits he is a lowly servant, owing his life to God. Peter instructs us to arm ourselves with a sacrificial mind, showing fervent love for one another, ministering to one another, that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
