Jesus Christ&#8217;s sacrifice of His life was both a sacrifice (fulfilling the law, which requires the shedding of blood for expiation from sin) and an offering (freely given). The apostle Paul compared his life to a &quot;drink offering&quot; (Philippians 2:17, 2:4:6). The apostle Peter describes God&#8217;s people as spiritual and living sacrifices (I Peter 2:4-5, Romans 12:1).
