description: (hide) Parents teach their offspring that God is invisible, but they should talk to Him everyday even though He doesn’t audibly reply to them but does so through His written Word. Later they learn the theological terms omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (everywhere present)- in all places at the same time, aware of everything going on at the same time in the lives of billions of people. Unlike human beings (who suffer from the "out of sight, out of mind" mentality), God knows all of our secret desires, urges, which are continually open to Him for inspection. When the angels of God visited Abraham’s tent (recorded in Genesis 18), informing him (an elderly man) that he and Sarah (well past menopause) would have a child, Sarah quietly laughed, creating an opportunity for Sarah to learn that God has a capacity to fulfill ALL of His divine purposes. In John 1:47-51, Nathaniel, who thought he was in a secret place, expressed amazement that Jesus could read is mind. Psalm 46 (as well as Psalm 139) teaches us, as God’s people, that God is our refuge a present help in trouble. In verse 4, we learn that there is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells. The rivers of living water spoken about by Jesus Christ in John 7:37-38, symbolic of the Holy spirit, transforming God’s saints into spirit beings at their resurrection. Because of this blessing of the Holy Spirit, God’s people should not despair, having fear or anxiety, but should "chill out" or relax, knowing that He never takes His attention away from them. <\/p>\n
