Men may have trouble finding the truth as Pilate did. John 18:38<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. Everything God says is truth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) &#8220;Thy word is truth.&#8221; John 17:17<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) It is impossible for God to lie. Hebrews 6:18<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. Knowing this, not surprising to find that God hates a lying tongue. Proverbs 12:22. A lying tongue is opposed to truth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">4. We should shun lying, no matter its apparent advantage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">DISCUSSION:<\/p>\n<p class=\"d1\">I. &nbsp;&nbsp;LYING IDENTIFIES THE LIAR WITH HIS FATHER.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. John 8:44. For better or worse we become like our father spiritually.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. 1 John 3:8. &#8220;he that doeth sin is of the devil.&#8221; &#8220;doeth&#8221; &#8211; present tense denoting continuous action. The one that continues in sin is of the devil.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. There are sons of the devil in the kingdom. Matthew 13:38<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">4. Eternal fire is prepared for the devil and his angels. Matthew 25:41. And for his sons. Matthew 13:38-43<\/p>\n<p class=\"d1\">II. &nbsp;&#8220;LYING LIPS ARE ABOMINATION TO THE LORD.&#8221; Proverbs 12:22<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. Jehovah hates a lying tongue. Proverbs 6:17<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. Lying lips do not become a prince. Proverbs 17:7<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. Ananias became an abomination with his lie. Acts 5:3<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">4. We put things that are abominable to us far away. So does God. Rev. 21:8<\/p>\n<p class=\"d1\">III. &#8220;THEY THAT DEAL TRULY ARE HIS DELIGHT.&#8221; Proverbs 12:22<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. The tongue of the just is as choice silver. Proverbs 10:20<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. The speaker of truth shall dwell in the holy hill. Psalm 15:1f<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness. Proverbs 12:17<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">CONCLUSION:<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. The Commands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Leviticus 19:11. ye shall not&#8230;lie one to another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Colossians 3:9. lie not one to another.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) Ephesians 4:25. putting away all falsehood&#8230;speak ye truth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">4) 1 Peter 2:1. Putting away all guile.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. Restoration<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Lying is defined as sin. Leviticus 6:3<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Repentance requires it. Luke 13:3<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) Can&#8217;t steal a car, repent, and keep the car.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">4) Did your lie take someone&#8217;s reputation, freedom, possessions, etc.? Must remove consequences.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">5) Did your lie lead someone away from the strait gate? To the best of your ability you must remove those eternal consequences.
