Jesus’ Teaching Impressed Even The Officers Sent To Arrest Him.<\/p>\n A. He spoke of going to the One who had sent Him (v. 33).<\/p>\n B. He spoke of providing drink to thirsty souls (v. 37).<\/p>\n C. He spoke of the Holy Spirit, and rivers of living waters (v. 38).<\/p>\n D. Verse 45. The officers returned empty handed, stating, “Never man spake like this man!”<\/em> The Pharisees accused them of being deceived.<\/p>\n II. Let Us See Some Points Regarding “Never Spake A Man Like This Man!”<\/p>\n 1. No previous man, nor any since, could say such.<\/p>\n 2. Equal with God (Phil. 2:6). (Cf. John 1:1-2).<\/p>\n 3. “…the glory I had with thee before the world was”<\/em> (John 17:5).<\/p>\n 1. “He that hath seen me hath seen the Father”<\/em> (John 14:9).<\/p>\n 2. “I and my Father are one”<\/em> (John 10:30).<\/p>\n 1. “I came not to do my own will”<\/em> (John 6:38).<\/p>\n 2. “I do always those things that please Him”<\/em> (John 8:29).<\/p>\n 1. The Way, Truth, Life (John 14:6).<\/p>\n 2. John 6:63 — Partake of Him to have life!<\/p>\n 1. “Get thee behind me, Satan!”<\/em> (Matt. 16:23).<\/p>\n 2. “Now is the prince of this world cast out”<\/em> (John 12:31).<\/p>\n 3. He came to destroy the works of the devil (1 John 3:8).<\/p>\n 1. John 14:2-3 — Mansions in the Father’s House.<\/p>\n 2. Matthew 5:34 — Heaven is God’s throne.<\/p>\n 3. In faithfulness, lay up treasures in heaven (Matt. 6:20).<\/p>\n 1. Worth more than the whole world (Mark 8:36).<\/p>\n 2. Eternal — that which men cannot kill (Matt. 10:28).<\/p>\n 3. That which goes into God’s care at death (Eccl. 12:7).<\/p>\n Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n 1. Never man spake like this man! He authored the plan by which men are to be saved (Heb. 5:9). There is NO other plan!<\/p>\n 2. The gospel, God’s power to save (Rom. 1:16), requires faith, repentance, confession of Christ, and baptism into Christ for remission of sins.<\/p>\n 3. This one, the Christ, also is the judge before whom we shall all one day stand (2 Cor. 5:10).
