2. About the Text:<\/p>\n
1) From Acts 4:34-35 we read that early Christians voluntarily sold lands and houses and gave the proceeds to the church.<\/p>\n
2) One particular man singled out was Barnabas.<\/p>\n
3) Why was his example exemplary among all the others?<\/p>\n

I. Sacrificial Giving<\/p>\n
2. This land cost him something.<\/p>\n
3. Like David, he did not offer something that cost him nothing (2 Samuel 24:24).<\/p>\n
4. Such is true sacrificial giving.<\/p>\n
1. He didn’t use the proceeds for the land for his own selfish purposes.<\/p>\n
2. He gave it to the cause of Christ.<\/p>\n
3. He was seeking the kingdom as Christ had instructed (Matthew 6:33).<\/p>\n
1. Being a Levite, Barnabas had the right to be supported by others (Numbers 18:21).<\/p>\n
