Introduction:<\/strong> Matt. 7:21<\/p>\n

1. We teach that our eternal destiny depends upon doing the will of the Father (Matt. 7:21), without adding (2 John 9; 1 Cor. 4:6; 1 Pet. 4:11), and without subtracting (Rev. 22:19).<\/p>\n

2. What is it about the will of the Father that makes it right?<\/p>\n

3. What is it about the will of man that makes it so wrong?<\/p>\n

DISCUSSION:<\/strong><\/p>\n

I.   GOD’S WORD IS TRUTH, John 17:17<\/p>\n

1. God cannot lie, Titus 1:2.<\/p>\n

2. He is infinite in knowledge. Illus. Job 38:1-6. See difference between knowledge of man and God. See also Job 42:1-6.<\/p>\n

3. God’s word is that which reflects reality as it is. God being the ultimate source of reality.<\/p>\n

4. Doing the will of the Father, then, is acting upon truth, acknowledging reality and God’s omniscience.<\/p>\n

II.  THE WAY OF MAN IS DEATH<\/p>\n

1. Prov. 14:12 . . . “end thereof are the ways of death.”??<\/p>\n

2. Peter realized his utter inadequacy, John 6:66-68.<\/p>\n

3. Man, without God, on his own, ends in death, Gen. 6:5.<\/p>\n

4. Following the will of man is acting upon a lie, denying reality and God’s sovereignty.<\/p>\n

Conclusion:<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. When we choose to follow men (denominationalism) rather than God and His Word (unaltered) we sin and find ourselves hell-bound.<\/p>\n
