Discusses the method by which we acquire the righteousness of God.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">SUBJECT: Salvation<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">TITLE: THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">PROPOSITION: To set forth a study of 2 Corinthians 5:21, the righteousness of God and &#8220;in him,&#8221; as it relates to us.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">OBJECTIVE:That we be located in Christ and be righteous.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">INTRODUCTION: [beginning of this sermon on righteousness of God<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. Read: 2 Corinthians 5:21.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. Regarding the text:<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Define:<\/p>\n<p class=\"i3\">a. Sin &#8211; ;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i3\">b. Him &#8211; ; and<\/p>\n<p class=\"i3\">c. Righteousness &#8211; God&#8217;s plan to make man righteous before Him;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i4\">a) Matthew 6:33;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i4\">b) Romans 1:16-17; and<\/p>\n<p class=\"i4\">c) Romans 3:26.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Consider the apostles were the only ambassadors of Christ.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) Thus, Paul as apostolic ambassador was beseeching the Corinthian Christians to be reconciled to God.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">4) This shows and clearly demonstrates our constant need to re-evaluate, update and improve our relationship with the Lord.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">5) The re-evaluation must be done objectively.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. Reference to Subject, Title, Proposition and Objective.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">DISCUSSION: In this verse we see &#8211;<\/p>\n<p class=\"d1\">I. &nbsp;&nbsp;PROPITIATION.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. Romans 3:23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. Matthew 27:46 Jesus took the sins of the world:<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Isaiah 53:5-6;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Isaiah 59:1-2;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) Separated from God.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. Jesus knew no sin.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Jesus knew what sin was, but did not experience it: Genesis 4:1; Matthew 1:25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Philippians 2:5-8.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) Not an angel sent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">4) Hebrews 2:17-18.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">5) In this humanity Jesus faced temptation and the cross: Hebrews 4:15.<\/p>\n<p class=\"d1\">II. &nbsp;POSSIBILITY.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. &#8220;Might.&#8221; The Lord has made righteousness a possibility but only we can make it a reality.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. Subjunctive mood.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Philippians 2:9-11.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) John 3:16.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i3\">a. No one should perish<\/p>\n<p class=\"i3\">b. but most will: Matthew 7:13-14; 7:21-23; 22:14.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. Titus 1:2.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">4. Hebrews 6:17-19.<\/p>\n<p class=\"d1\">III. POSITION.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. The location, &#8220;in Him.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2. The location of spiritual blessings:<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Ephesians 1:3;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Ephesians 1:7;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) 2 Timothy 2:10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">3. What does &#8220;in Christ&#8221; mean?<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Ephesians 1:22-23;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Colossians 1:18;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) Romans 12:4-5.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">4. How many bodies does Jesus have and save?<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) Ephesians 4:4-6; and<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) Ephesians 5:23.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">5. How does one enter into Christ?<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">6. How does one stay in Christ?<\/p>\n<p class=\"ser\">CONCLUSION: [End of this sermon on righteousness of God}<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">1. In 2 Corinthians 5:21 we have seen:<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">1) PROPITIATION;<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">2) POSSIBILITY; and<\/p>\n<p class=\"i2\">3) POSITION.<\/p>\n<p class=\"i1\">2.
