It is not this writer&#8217;s intent to &#8220;continue&#8221; that debate in this article. My only intent is to make a few observations and comments concerning our worship to our heavenly Father through the teaching medium of &#8220;singing&#8221;. With this in mind, let us &#8220;think&#8221; about the following scriptural aspects of our &#8220;singing unto the Lord&#8221;:<\/p>\n<p><strong>How Do We Sing Unto The Lord?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> With a prepared heart &#8211; Psalm 57:7; Psalm 108:1; Ephesians 5:18-19; Colossians 3:16.<br \/> <strong>2)<\/strong> With an understanding heart &#8211; Psalm 47:7; 1 Corinthians 14:15.<br \/> <strong>3)<\/strong> With our whole heart &#8211; Psalm 9:1-2; Psalm 111:1; Ephesians 5:19.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Do We Sing Unto The Lord?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> Because God has done many excellent things &#8211; Isaiah 12:5.<br \/> <strong>2)<\/strong> Because God has dealt bountifully with us &#8211; Psalm 13:6.<br \/> <strong>3)<\/strong> Because God is great &#8211; Psalm 95:3.<br \/> <strong>4)<\/strong> Because God is king &#8211; Psalm 47:6-7.<br \/> <strong>5)<\/strong> Because God is good &#8211; Psalm 135:3.<br \/> <strong>6)<\/strong> To teach and admonish one another &#8211; Ephesians 5:18-19; Colossians 3:16.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Because Of Who God Is And What God Has Done, We Sing Unto The Lord:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> To rejoice &#8211; Psalm 71:23; Zechariah 2:10.<br \/> <strong>2)<\/strong> To bless God &#8211; Psalm 96:2.<br \/> <strong>3)<\/strong> With thanksgiving &#8211; Psalm 147:7.<br \/> <strong>4)<\/strong> With joy &#8211; Psalm 27:6; Isaiah 65:14.<br \/> <strong>5)<\/strong> To honor and praise God &#8211; Psalm 66:2.<br \/> <strong>6)<\/strong> With gladness &#8211; Jeremiah 31:7.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some Topics Of Our Singing Unto The Lord Are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> God&#8217;s righteousness &#8211; Psalm 51:14; Psalm 145:7, 17.<br \/> <strong>2)<\/strong> God&#8217;s power &#8211; Psalm 21:13.<br \/> <strong>3)<\/strong> God&#8217;s mercy &#8211; Psalm 59:16; Psalm 89:1.<br \/> <strong>4)<\/strong> God&#8217;s judgment &#8211; Psalm 101:1.<br \/> <strong>5)<\/strong> God&#8217;s strength &#8211; Psalm 81:1.<br \/> <strong>6)<\/strong> God&#8217;s faithfulness &#8211; Psalm 89:1.<br \/> <strong>7)<\/strong> God&#8217;s righteousness &#8211; Psalm 51:14.<br \/> <strong>8)<\/strong> God&#8217;s wondrous works &#8211; Psalm 105:2.<br \/> <strong>9)<\/strong> God&#8217;s greatness &#8211; Psalm 96:4; Psalm 145:3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why Did David Sing Unto The Lord?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many other reasons too numerous to mention in this article that David lists for &#8220;singing unto the Lord&#8221;.
