Matthew 7:21; John 12:48).
30) Instruct people to be subject to civil authorities (Titus 3:1-2).
31) Avoid foolish questions, contentions and strivings about the law (Titus 3:9).
32) Reject heretics (those who stir up division) after the first and second admonition (Titus 3:10).

Conclusion

In addition to the above listed admonitions and qualifications, preachers are to “do the work of an evangelist” (2 Timothy 4:5). This would include all of the teaching and preaching necessary in making the gospel effective toward the saving of men’s souls (2 Timothy 4:2; Romans 10:14-15; cf. Isaiah 52:7). Preachers are to “fulfill their ministry” (2 Timothy 4:5 – ASV). This “fulfilling” is to be accomplished with an attitude of devotion, zeal, and fidelity toward the work of the Lord. A preacher is to efficiently complete the work of an evangelist faithfully, zealously, and courageously (1 Thessalonians 2:4; 1 Timothy 6:20; 2 Timothy 1:13-14; Titus 1:3), with no apology in declaring “all the counsel of God” (Acts 20:27; cf. Acts 20:20; John 15:15). Let us earnestly pray that God will provide the church with many faithful men possessing the above listed qualifications.

Much is said regarding the qualifications of elders, but what about the qualifications of preachers?
