They were often used by God&#8217;s appointment (cf. Proverbs 16:33; Numbers 26:52-56; 1 Samuel 14:41-42; Acts 1:24-26).<\/p>\n<p>The casting of lots is no longer necessary today because we have the complete revelation of God (2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:25; 2 Peter 1:3; Jude 1:3). Since man now has God&#8217;s complete revelation, he no longer needs to use the lot method. He can now fully &#8220;understand what the will of the Lord is&#8221; (Ephesians 5:17; cf.
