Gal. 6:1; 1 Corinthians 9:27; 2 Corinthians 13:5).

As God’s forgiven people, we tend to forget that this is the foundation of our pleasing God, rather than any personal record, intelligence, or financial contribution (1 John 1:3-7). As soon as we begin to think and act as if we are spiritually perfect, we are headed for a severe “fall” (Proverbs 16:18; cf. Proverbs 18:12). As God’s children, we all need God’s word to guide us, because we are inadequate in plotting our own course through life (Jeremiah 10:23). Our trust must no longer be in ourselves, other men, or worldly philosophies, but solely and completely in Him who died for us (Romans 5:8; Romans 15:12 KJV).

When some folks want to excuse their personal imperfections (whatever they are), and make them acceptable, they sometimes say, “Well, nobody’s perfect!” This is far from what Paul meant in Romans 3:23 when he states, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” It is essential for us to recognize that … Continue reading ““Well, Nobody’s Perfect!” – Bible study”

[1

post-44894","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sermons
["GET
