Or are those two things essentially the same?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p> Yes, there is a difference between the two terms. The basic meaning of the word &#8220;sanctify&#8221; means to &#8220;set apart&#8221; or to dedicate one&#8217;s life in service to God. <\/p>\n<p>The word &#8220;justify&#8221; means to be pronounced or declared as being &#8220;righteous.&#8221; Both are accomplished through obedience to the gospel of Christ (Romans 4:1-25; Romans 5:1-21; Romans 6:1-23; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Hebrews 10:22).<\/p>\n<p>The following are further definitions of these words and their usage in the New Testament:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sanctify<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>justify<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A more detailed study of these two terms is provided by Brother Kevin Cauley, instructor at the Southwest School of Bible Studies in Austin, Texas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sanctification Vs.
