In James 4:4, the text states:<\/p>\n
\n“Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.<\/strong>“<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
James is simply saying that Christians cannot be a friend of God and a friend of the world’s evil influences at the same time (see John 15:19 and John 17:14 for companion scriptures).<\/p>\n
