{"id":45197,"date":"2022-10-01T01:43:19","date_gmt":"2022-10-01T06:43:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/lets-open-the-book-bible-study\/"},"modified":"2022-10-01T01:43:19","modified_gmt":"2022-10-01T06:43:19","slug":"lets-open-the-book-bible-study","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.biblia.work\/sermons\/lets-open-the-book-bible-study\/","title":{"rendered":"Let&#039;s Open The Book! &#8211; Bible study"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Someone has said, &#8220;A Bible in the hand is worth two on the shelf.&#8221; Let&#8217;s carry that saying a step farther and say, &#8220;A Bible in our hand isn&#8217;t worth much if it is not&#8221;:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Opened<\/strong>  because we can&#8217;t read a Bible that we do not open (Nehemiah 8:5).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Read<\/strong>  because we can&#8217;t understand the Bible that we do not read (Nehemiah 8:8).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Understood<\/strong>  because we can&#8217;t obey the instructions in the Bible that we don&#8217;t understand (Nehemiah 8:8; Ephesians 3:3-4).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Obeyed<\/strong>  because we can&#8217;t be saved by the saving words of the Bible if it is not opened, read, understood and obeyed (Romans 1:16; Romans 6:17).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We may have several Bibles in our home, but they are of no value to us as long as all of them remain <strong>closed<\/strong>, We might as well not have the Bible as to have it and not <strong>use it<\/strong>. In fact, we do not really have it unless its message is transferred from its pages to our <strong>heart<\/strong> and becomes the <strong>living Word<\/strong> in our lives (Romans 6:17; Hebrews 4:12).<\/p>\n<p>Brethren and friends, let&#8217;s not only open, read, and study the Bible (Nehemiah 8:5; Ephesians 3:3-4; 2 Timothy 2:15 ASV), let&#8217;s <strong>make application<\/strong> of its precepts in our daily living. (Hebrews 5:14; cf.
